Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Explanation

To "Lean" on someone is not a bad thing. The Hebrew "Sha'an" (שָׁעַן) means to support oneself, to physically lean on a prop. This not about weakness, but reliability.

Inspiration

Are you doing everything in your own strength? How reliant are you on God? It's not about using your faith as a crutch, but an exercise in trust.

Application for Today

  • How might you lean into God's understanding. What are you trying to work out in your own strength? Is it time to sit in a moment of prayer and invite the Holy Spirit to bring wisdom and guidance.

Prayer

Father God, Too often I rely on my own understanding. Help me to trust you and give me a Heavenly perspective. Grant me wisdom, bring me guidance. In Jesus' name, Amen.
