"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Explanation

To "Rest" is a novelty in this day and age. The Greek word is "Anapauō" (ἀναπαύω). It meansto cause to rest, to give an intermission from labour. Sometimes we need someone to command rest over us!

Inspiration

Are you tired? Have you had enough? The call from Jesus is to come to Him for rest. The world is like a speeding train, and we need to get off and stop. Stillness is necessary for a healthy soul.

Application for Today

Put your phone on Silent and turn of notifications today. I dare you. You are the one who has to hold thee boundary and create space to be still. Sometimes all you need is a guarded moment, as little as 5 minutes.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, you are calling me to renewal and rest. Help me to pause throughout my day and be mindful and present to you. Renew my strength in the stillness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
