Bible Verse Of The Day:

The Light That Banishes

Psalm 27:1 (NIV)

The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?

Meaning

The word "Fear" is "Yare" (יָרֵא) in Hebrew. It can mean to be morally reverent, but in this context, to be terrified or intimidated. This kind of fear is one that needs standing up to.

Reflection

Are you afraid? What is causing you fear right now? Fear comes in all shapes and sizes, and it requires bravery and assurance to overcome it. God is our light, and He an help us dispel the darkness of fear.

Application

  • Name you fear and call it out before the Lord. Fear is real, but we need to rely on God as a stronghold who can help us overcome our fear.

Prayer

Father God, your light is greater than my fear. Help me to face and overcome my trouble. You will not leave me or abandon me. Be near in my need today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
