Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Explanation

The Greek word for "Guard" is "Phroureō" (φρουρέω). It means to mount a military guard, to act as a sentinel. Think of it as someone patrolling up and down the highway of your mind.

Inspiration

Does your mind feel leaky with worry? Do things live rent free in your head? You need a guard. This is the kind of peace that keeps us in Jesus. His peace is protective.

Application for Today

  • Invite the peace of God to do what you cannot. Ask Him to guard your heart and mind. May He be like a patrol batting off any intruder.

Prayer

Father God, Guard my mind and keep me in your perfect peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
