When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Explanation

To "Trust" is a felt choice. The Hebrew word is "Batach" (ื‘ึธึผื˜ึทื—) meaning to hide for refuge, to be confident and bold. This is an active choice on our part, where we bring ourselves to God when we are afraid.

Inspiration

What are you afraid of? Are you feeling exposed? To put our trust in God is something we must choose to do. When we are afraid, we need a place of refuge.

Application for Today

  • Perhaps you find it hard to trust, but even simple prayer can help us frame our mind in trusting God. Name your fear and ask God to help you as you trust Him.

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you are trustworthy. As I bring my fear to you, help me to rely on your presence and not just my own strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
