Colossians 3:15

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Explanation

The Greek word for "Rule" is Brabeuō (βραβεύω) . To act as an umpire, to arbitrate or decide. It's a wonderful picture of Christ being the one who can tip our anxiety into security, our worry into assurance and fear into faith.

Inspiration

What's your internal regulation like? When something happens, how do you react? For Christ to rule in our hearts means we have an extra influence that reframes our thoughts.

Application for Today

We often feel before we think. How might you take whatever happens to you, and pause before the Lord asking him to help you reframe your thoughts. Let Christ rule and help you balance what you experience.

Prayer

Father God, May my thoughts and actions be influenced by you. Jesus, rule in my heart and help me respond to my emotions like you would. In you precious name, Amen.
