Romans 8:15

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Explanation

The word "Adoption" in the Biblical Greek is "Huiothesia" (υἱοθεσία). It means the placing as a son, granting full legal standing and inheritance. It represents a full receiving of new privilege.

Inspiration

Have you felt trapped? Is there something holding you back? When we are adopted into God's family, we receive a divine honour and privilege that can help us overcome the things that bind us.

Application for Today

Name what is holding you back before the Lord and recognise your standing as a son or daughter of the most high God. There is nothing He cannot do.

Prayer

Father God, help me to walk in the security and confidence of being welcomed in to your family. Help me to hold my head high. In Jesus' name, Amen.
