Genesis 15:1

After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

Explanation

The word "Shield" in Hebrew is "Magen" (מָגֵן). It means buckler, a defensive covering, protection.

Inspiration

Are you feeling exposed? Have you been coming under fire lately? The Lord is our shield and protector. He is able to guard us in all things.

Application for Today

Bring yourself vulnerably before the Lord in prayer. Ask Him to cover you as you face the challenges of the day. He is faithful to uphold you.

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you are my protection. Cover me and strengthen me as I face the day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
