1 Peter 3:14
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened."
Explanation
In the Classical Greek, "Troubled" or "Frightened" is "Tarassō" (ταράσσω). It can be understood as agitated, deeply disturbed or stirred up. Being troubled is almost the feeling of somebody winding you up, like they are prodding at you.
Inspiration
Is someone living in your head rent free? Have they got under your skin? People can trigger us even without ill intent, but how do we guard ourselves against this kind of trouble?
Application for Today
- Invite the Holy Spirit to be a louder presence than the voices of your attackers. Sometimes we battle for peace of mind and prayer usually helps!
Prayer
Father God, I thank you for you Holy Spirit. Silence the fear and calm my troubled mind. In Jesus' name, Amen.
