Isaiah 35:4

say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

Explanation

To be "Anxious" in the Hebrew is "Mahar" (מָהַר). It means we are hurried, acting precipitately, hastily, or racing. Fear can get us racing and hurrying along.

Inspiration

Hurry is a funny thing. It can have us move to the place of anxiety. We become slave to panic and fast moving emotions.

Application for Today

  • Take 3 deep breaths. Breathe in for 3, hold it for 2 and release for 5 seconds. Slow yourself in the presence of God and refuse to be led by hurry.

Prayer

Father God, You are still and that is the pace I wish to lead my life from. Help me to walk in your calm. In Jesus' name, Amen.
