2 Corinthians 10:5

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Explanation

The word for "Captive" in Greek is "Aichmalōtizō" (αἰχμαλωτίζω). It means to make a prisoner of war by the spear. That's the level of aggression we command when thoughts lead us down dark paths.

Inspiration

Do your thoughts run astray? Are they keeping you prisoner? A thought can live for 8 seconds, after that, it's up to you to command it.

Application for Today

You can't stop your thoughts, but you can direct them towards the Lord and ask Him to speak louder than them. Ask Him.

Father God, Help me to align my thoughts with you. Keep my mind clear and fixed on you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
