Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Explanation

Kakia (κακία) is the word for trouble here, also meaning evil, or daily hardship. Easy to remember because it sounds like cack and cack is never good! Each day has enough crap of its own to deal with.

Inspiration

Are you feeling rubbish today? Do your problems seem more than your fair portion? They are often made worse when thinking about tomorrow's problems.

Application for Today

  • Today has enough worry and God can be our portion to cope in all things. Leave tomorrow's problems to tomorrow, and ask God to help you meet the moment and troubles of the day.

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you are my portion. Help me to put tomorrow's problems into the future and lean on your strength to deal with today. Your portion is enough to hold me through the day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
