Matthew 6:25

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Explanation

Life is a word the has wonderful depth in the original Greek. Psuchē (ψυχή) means life, soul, and something untouchable within us. Jesus is making the point that there is a meta-physical value within us and it matters.

Inspiration

Are items proving to be a distraction? Does your phone have more focus than your soul? Your life is not just where you go and what you do. Your life comes from God and has meaning and value.

Application for Today

Where might you be misunderstanding the most important tings about life? Do things matter to you more than moments or people? It's time to release your love of stuff. Give something away today.

Prayer

Father God, Help me to be in love with the make and a not mere items on the earth. Give me a generous heart that can detach from distractions. In Jesus' name, Amen.
