Isaiah 41:10

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Explanation

The Hebrew word for dismayed is sha’ah (שָׁעָה). To be dismayed is to find yourself distracted from the key object of your focus. It's like trying to kick a ball while looking at your phone. Not impossible, but your bound to misstep. In other words, do not be distracted by fear.

Inspiration

Are the worries of the day distracting you from keeping a faith perspective. How might you remind yourself throughout the day that you are to walk in the confidence of God?

Application for Today

  • Take a moment to remind yourself that there is a bigger perspective. The worries you face today will be forgotten in the coming months. Keep in mind that God is bigger than your problems.

Prayer

Father God, Help me to recognise your peace and presence in my day. You are not distant and distracted.
