Wholeness in the Chaos
2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NIV)
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
Meaning
The Greek word for "Peace" is "Eirēnē" (εἰρήνη). It means peace, wholeness, binding together that which was broken. It gives us a similar sentiment to Shalom. The peace fo God is something that is imparted to us and is all encompassing.
Reflection
Are you surrounded by peace or distress? What emotions are circling you right now? God's peace is something that can come to rest on us, and we ought to pray for it to be a covering of protection in times of distress.
Application
- Name your distress today and invite the Holy Spirit to to bring the peace of God. May you be given peace as you pray.
Prayer
Father God, grant me peace and my I rest under your grace and kindness in my distress. In Jesus' name, Amen.
