Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-it leads only to evil.
Explanation
To "Fret" in Hebrew is Charah (讞指专指讛). The Hebrew is emotive and it means to burn, to be kindled with heat, representing internal feeling of churning.
Inspiration
Are you angry? When we nurse our anger, it can turn bitter, sour and even into rage. We can feed it allowing it to lead us into sinful choices. Our feelings can't be helped, and how we manage the emotions of anger can be defining.
Application for Today
- Sit with you anger, express it in prayer to God. Not everything you feel needs to be positive. God can handle your anger, but don't let it drive you to poor choices.
Prayer
Father God, I am angry about... I don't want to sin in my anger. I'm going to tell you what I'm upset about. Thank you for hearing me, guiding me and loving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
