John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Explanation

To "Take heart" is "Tharseō" (θαρσέω) in the Greek. It means to be of good cheer, to have bold courage. Our hope in Jesus is one of a sunny disposition.

Inspiration

Have you lost your joy? Are you feeling down? Sometimes we can't change how we feel, but we can change our perspective.

Application for Today

Trouble will come your way, but can you take an attitude of faith and hope today? Remind yourself of the promise of Jesus' hope as you tackle the day.

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you have overcome the world. Help me to rise in the hope and confidence of your strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
