Psalm 121:3

He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber;

Explanation

Slumber is "Num" (נוּם) in Hebrew. It means sleep, to be drowsy or nod off. It's a little bit like a security guard who has had a quiet shift and has been awake too long! God is not like that, He is paying attention!

Inspiration

Do you worry that God has forgotten you? Are you unsure that His eyes are upon you? He is alert and awake, ready to catch you when you fall.

Application for Today

  • Remind yourself as you start the day that God is in control. He is not asleep at the wheel. He knows what you need for today. Ask him!

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you are attentive to me. Help me to lean into your safe and loving hands today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
