Lamentations 3:25–26

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Explanation

Waiting is tough. To “Wait” in Hebrew is Qavah (קָוָה). It means to hold yourself in expectation, to be bound together with hope, to trust in tension. Most of life is made of tension and it is a challenge to hold it.

Inspiration

What tension are you facing today? Is the stress becoming a strain? When we wait on the Lord, our hope can rise and help us not break under tension.

Application for Today

  • Name your stress and strain in prayer before the Lord and invite Him to increase your emotional capacity. Wait on Him for strength.

Prayer

Father God, I thank you that you are with me in the tension. Help me to not break, but teach me to carry your grace and strength. In Jesus' name, Amen.
