Luke 10:41
"Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,”
Explanation
The word "Worried" in Greek is "Thorubazō" (θορυβάζω). It's the kind of trouble that disturbs us, when you are emotionally troubled with noise and disruption to peace. Imagine a still pond, and somebody throws a huge rock from a great height into the middle. That would be "Thorubazō" to the calm.
Inspiration
What seems to be troubling you today? Do you think it has gone unnoticed? God sees us in our trouble. Although He knows it, sometimes we need to hear it reflected back to us in prayer.
Application for Today
- Be mindful of your troubles and name them before the Lord. Simply acknowledging your troubles is enough to remind yourself that God knows your heart.
Prayer
Father God, I am troubled and worries. Please help me to sit with my trouble and see you in the middle of my problems. You are able to carry me and uphold me. Help me to rely on you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
